Brett Cook has named round 14 team for this week.

We caught up with Brett Cook and asked about last week’s win over Mounties and Saturday’s upcoming game against the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground…

What are your thoughts about the game last weekend?

It was a very tough physical game. The boys even said how quick it was, it took them by surprise. I’m very happy with the win; it was always going to be tough to beat Mounties out there. We made it hard for ourselves; we controlled the game so well and then found ourselves in trouble at the end of the game just from some errors. We handed them two 100 metre tries when we were on the attack.

Who were your standouts from last week?

I thought Sam Gorman was good. Taniela Lasalo & Ben Smith were also good for us.

Who was the ‘Players Player’?

Sam Gorman

Who was the Player of the Week selected by the Coaching Staff (Coaches Award)?

Sam Gorman

This weekend we’re up against Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground … So where do you think we’ll need to improve for this weekend’s game to come away with the win?

We just have to execute our plays better; get a bit deeper and be a bit more fluent in attack. Last week we scored a couple of good tries but we missed a lot more opportunities because people weren’t in the right spot or doing their job, getting deep enough and being where they needed to be. We just have to improve that.

I think we are improving our defence and as long keep working hard on that and getting better at that each week.

Who do you think are the danger players that we’ll need to watch out for?

Lachlan Burr their back rower. They’ve lost a few players with them going up to first grade but he’s [Lachlan] still there. He played real well against us last year; he’ll be a handful for us.

Their Fullback, Tyrone Phillips. I watched a bit of him on video and he’s dangerous when he gets his hands on the ball

Are there any injuries to report on?

Pat Mataele has a bit of a strained hamstring.

They are to play Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs
