Chris Yates has named round 12 team for this week.

With a bye this last weekend we caught up with Chris Yates and asked about the round 10 weekend’s 34 – 8 win over the Auburn Warriors and also spoke to Chris about Sunday’s upcoming game against the Guildford Owls at Ringrose Park …

So Chris, last weekend’s win as put us on top of the ladder on for and against… What are your thoughts about last week’s win?

Good result for the boys against a big Auburn team. We played some great footy in the 1st half. The 2nd half was scrappy, the weather set in, some poor ball handling and the ruck slowed down to the pace of the early 1980's.

Who were your standouts from last week?

Walter Vaeau did a heap of work through the middle, Liam Foran did a great job at 9, his kicking game was pretty good and Sammy Gorman continued his good form. Danny Barakat also turned in a strong performance out wide making plenty of metres

Who was the ‘Players Player’?

Sammy Gorman

Who was the Player of the Week selected by the Coaching Staff (Coaches Award)?

Walter Vaeau

Can you give us an update on Blake Cook?

Blake is having MRI scans on his left knee and right ankle today. At this stage it looks like 4-6 weeks, which is pretty disappointing for the young fella as he has been playing some good footy for us over the 1st half of the season.

This weekend we’re up against Guildford at home … So where do you think we’ll need to concentrate for this weekend’s game to come away with the win?

We are up against a good team in Guildford who have proven themselves over the 1st round.  We need to start well control the ball and let our big men do their work.

Who do you think are the danger players that we’ll need to watch out for?

Ben and Casey Ellis in the middle they have a lot of experience which the Owls younger players look up to.  Chris Saab will be a danger on the edge

Are there any injuries to report on?

Blake Cook sees the specialist today about his knee.

Justin Lemalu 2-3weeks broken hand
