Brett Cook has named round 16 team for this week.

We caught up with Brett Cook and asked about the win over the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs and this Sunday’s upcoming game against the Newcastle Knights at Newcastle No.2 Sportsground …

What are your thoughts about the game last weekend?

It was tough. We made it hard for ourselves. We played an enthusiastic side that played really good in the first half, they completed 80+% and we were only in the 50’s. We just made to many errors and put ourselves under pressure but we were happy with the way we got ourselves back into it in the second half especially after they scored early in their first set. The boys started to play some good footy, we still made a couple of errors but not as many and we finished up with a good win

Who were your standouts from last week?

Taniela Lasalo was our best he got ‘Players Player’ and the ‘Player of the Week’ awards. I thought Benny Smith was good as well. Lorenzo Ma’Afu and Bureta Faraimo also had good games. I was just real happy that it was another tough away game that we were able to win.

Are there any injuries to report on?

The only injury to report was to Ben Jones who got 8 stitches in his head.

This weekend we’re up against the Newcastle Knights in Newcastle… So where do you think we’ll need to concentrate for this weekend’s game to come away with the win?

Again, on our own game. I think when we played them last time we got good value out of our middle just running hard and pushing up with each other, supporting each other and played some good footy of the back of that. No real difference to how we want to play every week. The most important thing for us is to make our tackles and complete our sets. We need to hold the ball.

Who do you think are the danger players that we’ll need to watch out for?

They’ve got a big forwards pack. They’ve got two (2) smart hookers (one of the bench), Travis Waddell starts.

They’ve got Nathan Ross out at Fullback. He scored a few tries last week so he’s in a bit of form.

Timana Tahu is in the Back Row for them and Clint Newton so they’ve got some experience.

Really we just need to watch no-one in particular but just need to keep concentrating.
